Register Today for the 2015 Great Futures Education Organizing Conference

After more than a decade of experiencing back-to-school through the eyes of parents, students and educators, Great Ed has learned this:

Grassroots Powers Education

No matter where you are in Colorado, public education is in better shape because of the energy, talent and passion of individuals working together to improve their corner of the world.  That’s what we call “grassroots.”

Next time you enter a school — or talk to a child, grandchild, niece, nephew or spouse who does — think about what grassroots activism has accomplished.   Maybe it’s the new(er) technology made possible by parents who raised the funds.  Maybe it’s improved school policies resulting from participation in accountability committees and school board meetings.  Maybe it’s a new roof or school building, made possible because community members campaigned for a successful bond election.

Or maybe the grassroots victory in your school can be seen in the teaching positions or electives added back (or at least protected from cuts) because Great Ed supporters like you came to the Capitol and contacted your legislators, and successfully convinced them to make public education a higher investment priority.

Being part of a grassroots network is easy, rewarding, and critical to the success of the students in our schools, communities, and state.

And now you have a chance to up your grassroots game:
